Me Ra Koh SOAR Scholarship | my life

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

I am writing this because a couple of weeks ago I did a very courageous thing. I submitted a video to Me Ra Koh’s SOAR scholarship. Yes, I say submitting the video was courageous because it is out  there for the whole world to see and critique. Me Ra Koh’s SOAR program is a program that helps your business grow. Who wouldn’t want that opportunity? There are lots of videos out there being posted now. Go and Check them out.  I was one of the first ones to submit a video (YES, a little nerve racking), but I did do it! I think that all the women who posted video’s are very courageous and want to soar just as much as anyone else. I am so excited that Me Ra Koh and her sponsors have the chance to give not one, but three women the opportunity to SOAR in 2010. That being said, I am very excited to see what happens in the NEW YEAR! Here is a quote that I so LOVE due to it so represents what SOAR will do to three wonderful women this year.

“We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day.” – Edith Lovejoy Pierce

I believe in soaring for many reasons. I am just your average hard working, mother of four, wife of my high school sweetheart, daughter, sister, friend, labor and delivery nurse, a kind hearted passionate woman,  and an aspiring photographer. The main reason that I want to soar is to get my business to the next level. I want my DREAM to succeed at a photography business to come true. I want to become an AWESOME and SUCCESSFUL BusinessWOMAN! I want the tools to go down the right path. I want to show my children and family that “I” can succeed! I hope that 2010 has many open doors for me.

Here is the video that I submitted. I submitted it on youtube, but PLEASE feel free to go to the SOAR website and view the mine and the other video’s and make some lovin’ comments! They are truly appreciated by all!

i Heart Faces contest Sweet Dreams ♥ | promotions

I am entering once again the i ♥ faces contest. This weeks theme is Sweet Dreams! I took this newborn pic of my friend’s son, Blake! Isn’t he adorable. The guest judges this week are Justin & Mary Marantz. I had the opportunity to listen to them speak in New Orleans at PartnerCon. They were amazing! Mary’s story is a tear jerker, you can read about it on the i heart faces blog!

Giving is AWESOME | promotions

You know someone. You know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography — $250 worth, to be exact. Whether it’s canvas or albums, prints for Grandma, or a slideshow to watch over and over, it’s in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season.

Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a $100 free session. What better reason to show some love could there possibly be, people?

The rules:

* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-vacation-home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)

* The nominee must reside in Sylvania, Oh or surrounding areas. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

* You must e-mail me the full story : nancymitchellphotography@yahoo.com .

The winner will be announced on Christmas Eve — get nominating! I can’t wait to read all of your entries!

Open your heart to someone this holiday season — and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.

With love,

Nancy Mitchell
