There is this wonderful workshop that I would LOVE to attend called “For the Love Workshop.” Again, another contest that I am entering, well because all that know me know that I am a “CONTEST QUEEN”! It is in a good way though. A little bit about my background to understand why I am so determined to WIN. My mother had me when she was 17 and my sister when she was 19. She married young and divorced. I never really knew my biological dad. My mom remarried my dad (adopted me in 1st grade and my sister). We always had to look for the “deals” or the “sale”. We could NEVER buy a thing unless it was on sale. So I feel that is where my CONTEST QUEEN obsession comes into play. I feel that I have to try to win because if you don’t try, hey you may NEVER know if you will win! So with that being said…I am looking for that GIFT to receive a scholarship to go to “For the Love Workshop.” “GOD does notice us, and He watches over us. See I need some help and guidance to make my business go to the next level. I need a creative outlet. I am consistantly stressed and extremely anxious about my business not succeeding the way that I want it to, or should I say the way my husband wants it to! I am unsure what plans GOD has for my life. I know that I want photography to be a BIG part of my life and I need the little extra help to make that happen! I need a chance to clear my mind (free from kids), and work (full-time RN) and be able to ask GOD to show me new ways to see things and I BELIEVE that this workshop would HELP me tremendously.
I am looking to be refreshed, rejuvenated, restored, uplifted, directed, and encouraged from this workshop. I want to be refreshed with a new attitude towards my business, kids, and husband. I need to be rejuvenated to continue this journey. I need to be restored with GOD. (sad to say…haven’t been to church in a long time, bad..bad..bad)! I need the encounter of new friendships to help uplift me to a new place. Direction and Encouragement is also what I am hoping to get from the speakers at the workshop! I would LOVE to be able to meet Zach & Jody Gray, Mike Larson, Ginny Corbett,and Jonathan and Melissa Helser. “Your eye is the lamp that provides light for your body. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is.”~ Matthew 6:22-23 Help me see that light again!
So here I am PRAYING that I get that once in a lifetime opportunity for this wonderful scholarship to attend this amazing workshop!

I got the opportunity to work with two amazing gals that contacted me for photographing their work. I got to work with Lorraine from Little Cans of Beans and Cynde from Hip Chic Designs! 2. Send your ONE favorite picture to me via e-mail (nancymitchellphotography@yahoo.com). Be sure to add your child’s name and age. I will then post them to a special contest album on my Facebook fan page.
3. Join my Facebook fan page.
4. Send people (your friends, family, co-workers, etc.) to join my Facebook fan page and VOTE for their favorite picture (i.e. YOURS!)
5. The winner will be announced on August 23rd based on the total number of likes for each entered image. Votes are counted as likes on each individual image/entry. A person must be a fan of my Facebook fan page to like a photo.
The Rules
1. Entries must be submitted by August 15th. I will post all entries on August 16th, and the voting will begin immediately!!
2. ONE entry per person.
3. ONE vote per person!
4. Voting will continue from August 16th through August 22nd! Winner will be announced on August 23rd!
5. Submitted images must be of a child 10 years old or younger.
6. For obvious reasons, photos taken by professional photographers will not be accepted.

Every entry will receive a $10 credit towards their next session with Nancy Mitchell Photography. limit one per household/family. must be used by October 31, 2010.
Runner up winner will receive a disc with 3 images from your session with Nancy Mitchell Photography, must be used by October 31, 2010. Session fee not included!

I got the opportunity to photograph this gorgeous senior yesterday. I used to work with her aunt Laura. Laura’s house was recently destroyed in the TORNADO that went through here this past June. Thanks Laura for referring Angel to me and I wish you the best with your new home. We photographed this lovely gal at her church (The Church on Strayer)! Angel will be a SENIOR REP for me this year. I look forward to photographing more pics of her throughout the year and if you know a SENIOR, send them my way! I would love to photograph them. Also I am looking for more SENIOR REPS so if you are interested, please inquire.

I got the opportunity to meet up with some really awesome local photographers this past Wednesday and learn some off camera lighting. I also got the opportunity to try out some really rad new lenses! Thanks Sam for sharing! I am grateful that some of the local photographers are so willing to share information with me and the others that attended. We had some awesome models and here are a few images from the night! I can’t wait for the next one.

I meet little Miss Khloe when she was born because YUP I was her mama’s nurse! Boy…oh…boy how time flies by! She wasn’t really in the mood today for pictures, but I did manage to get some cute shots!
