Business Talk | my life

Love makes a lot of things possible. Still, getting married is probably one of the most important decisions a woman can ever make in her life.

This past weekend I got to go on a getaway with the LOVE of my life, my husband! We got to get away without kids. We went to Soaring Eagle Casino. Hey I know it isn’t much, but my husband LOVES to gamble and I just go to get away and play the slots a bit! It is just a getaway that is very relaxing to say the least. I was social network free and it felt good. Don’t get me wrong….I missed it, but realized I can live without it. I had the opportunity to think over many business decisions that I have made in the past year or so. I want to thank all of my wonderful clients for giving me the opportunity to photograph their special day and special loved ones! It means alot to me that YOU gave me a chance. A chance I might not have gotten. I want so much for my business adventure to grow and grow fast, but in reality I know that it takes time. I LOVE photographing all aspects of life. I want to photograph the complete circle…Engagement, Wedding, Maternity, Newborn, Child, Senior, Family, and back to Weddings:) I know eventually I might decide that one might be a bigger priority, but for now I am realizing that I LOVE shooting people! I LOVE LOVE! I recently got the chance to listen to three well known wedding photographers speak and man I want a business like theirs! They are very successful in what they do and their work is so incredibly amazing. They took chances and it took time and commitment to make it happen! So I am asking YOU if you would like to be photographed, whether it is your family, newborn, maternity, child, senior, or even a wedding that YOU choose Nancy Mitchell Photography! I am trying to grow my business and would LOVE some more bookings! Remember I do have a referral program this year and it is $100 print credit for each referral you send to me! I would LOVE to shoot some more weddings this year too. This year has been great so far, but I want to ROCK it out the rest of the year! Please HELP ME in doing so by sending me some clients or becoming a client yourself! I really appreciate each one of YOU and I look forward to working with you! Sweet Annabel Rose | newborn

“A new baby is like the beginning of all things, hope, a dream of possibilities.”

Here is the newborn that I got to photograph yesterday! Isn’t she so sweet and cuddly? She is a peanut just like her mamma and her big sister. I now have a friend that has four kids just like me! Best of luck to the family as they adjust to having four kids. It is a challenge, but it does get easier! The more that I photograph these sweet newborn babes, the more I LOVE my job! I just adore photographing newborns. It is a challenge let me tell you, but the end result is always worth it! Enjoy the pictures and make sure you leave me some LOVE! The last picture I was experimenting with a new action and it turned out so sweet!

Lydia | newborn

I worked this past weekend and had the amazing joy of taking care of my co-workers daughter and new grand-daughter during her labor and delivery! I had to take some pics for my co-worker yesterday per her request. So here are just a few that I could sneak in before they were discharged home. Isn’t she just BEAUTIFUL? I think she takes after her mama. Stay tuned because I am going to photograph this newborn in the next week or so, once they get settled at home.

Cutest Kid Contest | promotions

Summer is here and to kick things off, I wanted to have a little fun! I am hosting my first ever Cutest Kids Contest! You will be able to enter a photo of your adorable child to win a free photo session and portrait package with Nancy Mitchell Photography!

The Premise: Cutest Kid Photo Contest

1. Have a little photo session! You must be a parent or legal guardian of your child. (or you can submit a recent picture (6 months or greater), if you prefer!)

2. Send your ONE favorite picture to me via e-mail (nancymitchellphotography@yahoo.com). Be sure to add your child’s name and age. I will then post them to a special contest album on my Facebook fan page.

3. Join my Facebook fan page.

4. Send people (your friends, family, co-workers, etc.) to join my Facebook fan page and VOTE for their favorite picture (i.e. YOURS!)

5. The winner will be announced on August 23rd based on the total number of likes for each entered image. Votes are counted as likes on each individual image/entry. A person must be a fan of my Facebook fan page to like a photo.

The Rules

1. Entries must be submitted by August 15th. I will post all entries on August 16th, and the voting will begin immediately!!

2. ONE entry per person.

3. ONE vote per person!

4. Voting will continue from August 16th through August 22nd! Winner will be announced on August 23rd!

5. Submitted images must be of a child 10 years old or younger.

6. For obvious reasons, photos taken by professional photographers will not be accepted.

The winner will receive a complimentary photo shoot and a CD with the best shots in full-resolution with a print release! That is a [$350] value!!! Your photo session must be booked within 10 days of winning, and completed before October 31, 2010.

Every entry will receive a $10 credit towards their next session with Nancy Mitchell  Photography. limit one per household/family. must be used by October 31, 2010.

Runner up winner will receive a disc with 3 images from your session with Nancy Mitchell Photography, must be used by October 31, 2010. Session fee not included!

Picar Family | family

I had the pleasure of photographing this wonderful new family on Saturday. I went to school with Amy (she graduated a year after me) and she was home from New York. She met her husband William on a job she did after high school on a cruise ship. You see Amy was always the lead singer in all of our high school musicals. She sure can sing. They came home so that baby Owen could get baptized today. William is from the Philippines and ALL his family is still there. So I hope that the PICAR family enjoys these pics from far away! I look forward to photographing you guys later this year! Maybe next time we all can actually hang out??? Thanks Amy and Will for giving me the opportunity to photograph your precious little man! I just LOVE him to pieces! Save travels back home too:)

Baby Mara | newborn

Today I got the opportunity to photograph my second cousin! I ♥ newborns. Baby Mara looks just like my cousin Emily did as a baby. She wouldn’t cooperate with me and go to sleep, but we did manage to get some good shots. Emily and my sister Nikki were due on the same day, but Mara came a couple days earlier than my sisters babe Liam! I will be going to AZ in a week and will be photographing him and Payton, my other nephew! So stay tuned for pics next week. Enjoy Baby Mara for now, she is so stinkin’ adorable. We did have to throw in a pic of the dog aka Mara’s sister Woofie!

Sweetness… | newborn, kids

OMG…sweetness! I work with this little man’s mother Lisa and she is one of my BFF’s! I am so glad she gave me the opportunity to photograph her kids :) Her middle son did not want his picture taken today, so maybe next time. Her oldest son is such a doll. Baby Sweetness | newborn
