“Love is a symbol of eternity.  It wipes out all sense of time, destroying all memory of a beginning and all fear of an end.” ~Author Unknown

What a beautiful day it was on Saturday! I got the opportunity to photograph Billy & Emily’s wedding day. You see…. Emily and her sister have babysat for me over the past 8 years. Yup, they are my neighbors and I could not have been more honored when Emily asked me to photograph her wedding day!

The day could not have been more perfect. And you could tell that the two of them were well loved by all their family and friends.

As Emily came down the aisle, arm in arm with her dad….Billy smiled and stared at her. She was stunning.

They are starting an incredible life together and are so blessed. I hope that marriage treats you two well. Have fun on your Southern Caribbean cruise!

And one of my favorites….Emily & her dad! His smile says it all!

I came across this video and thought that I would share it with you all. So, your first dance as a married couple…..do you do the traditonal dance or do you SPICE things up? This is so cool. I wish I would have thought of this for my wedding day! I would LOVE to photograph a Bride & Groom who know how to dance like this! So if YOU or YOU know someone getting married and are planning something CRAZY and fun….SEND THEM MY WAY! Sorry that my Wedding Wednesday post is short, but I have been busy spending time with my family this week! Enjoy.

Wedding Coordinators | Wedding Wednesday

Wednesday, September 7th, 2011

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”  ~Winston Churchill

Today I want to reflect on how important it is to have a wedding coordinator on your wedding day. This past weekend I got the opportunity to work with one of our area Wedding Coordinators April from Your Perfect Day. I must say that the whole day was a delight. From the decorations, to the Bride and Groom getting ready, to the Ceremony, and the Reception. She was amazing. April did a PERFECT job and made the day go easier for Sarah & Tom.  She is not only a wedding coordinator, but at the end of the day she is Sarah & Tom’s new friend! I want to THANK April for doing such a great job.

A wedding coordinator should pay attention to the details of the day and have the ability to listen to the client. They should also help you facilitate your ideas, give you guidance, directions and support for planning your day. The wedding coordinator should also make the wedding day a reflection of YOU and make it as easy and stress free as possible.

This is a sweet and perfect video from Colbie Caillat called “I DO”. It would be perfect for your wedding day first dance, your video, or it could be played anywhere that you see fit on your wedding day!

So please please try to make it essential that you use a wedding day coordinator for your WEDDING DAY! You won’t regret it.

Here is a sneak peek of the decorations that April created for Sarah & Tom’s wedding day and of course a picture of me with April to end the night.

Look Pretty in Pictures | Wedding Wednesday

“True love cannot be found where it truly does not exist, Nor can it be hidden where it truly does.” ~Anonymous

As I was getting my hair highlighted and cut on Monday from the amazing Crissy from Brodava Salon in Perrysburg, Oh. I was inspired while looking through some magazines. So today is Wedding Wednesday and I thought that it would be a great idea to tell you all how to look pretty in pictures!

1. Smile Style- You should make sure on your wedding day that you are thinking happy thoughts. You should smile naturally and alternate that smile with and without teeth. You want your pictures to look differently and not all the same.

2. Body Language- You should make sure that you are standing up straight and not slouching. Make sure you look relaxed though. I know it can be very difficult, trust me! That is why I am here to help you be as natural as I can. Make sure that you keep your bouquet close to your belly button rather than your chest!

3. Practice makes perfect- You should practice your smile before your BIG day! Practice in front of the mirror or take some pictures with your digital camera and refine it. Also another reason to get your engagement pictures taken by me before your BIG day. It gives you and your husband to be a chance to experience what will happen on your wedding day as well as a practice run!

4. Listen Up- Make sure you listen to my directions and have your wedding party also listen to my directions. One we will get some ROCKIN’ shots and hopefully they will be fast and sweet so you all can go and enjoy your PARTY! Make sure you look at each other and make some small talk while your photos are being taken so you can look more natural too. Also if the groom has an amazing joke to tell the bride and make her laugh….it will be an all natural smile that will look great captured.

P.S. Make sure that your unique personality is reflected in your hair, gown, and accessories! And remember to have FUN!

It is all in the details Wedding Wednesday | weddings

“Sit by me, my beloved, and listen to my heart; smile, for your happiness is a symbol of our future.” ~Kahlil Gibran

It is all in the details. I recently met Alice Kemmer from I DO Chair Covers at a get together that Bridal Consultant Brittany Craig put together. We went and saw the movie Bridesmaids, but before we met at Bar Louie. Alice is such a wonderful outgoing and friendly person. She took it upon herself to introduce herself to us newbies…(Andrea Vicente and I)! I felt that she welcomed us with open arms and I am grateful for that. Thanks Alice for showing hospitality to Andrea and I! If you need some chair covers go and see Alice. She will hook you up! Chair covers make the world of difference I feel at a wedding reception. They just bring the details out! And if you go and see Alice, tell her that I sent ya. I look forward to working with you in the future Alice.

Here are a couple of pics of some chair covers from my very first wedding!

Trip over love, you can get up. Fall in love and you fall forever. ~Author Unknown

On Saturday May 14th, 2011 I got the opportunity to photograph this lovely couples wedding day! Kate and Jeremy’s wedding went very well despite the rain in the afternoon. But hey RAIN is supposed to mean good luck on your wedding day! They were true sports during the whole photo opportunites! I brought along a second shooter with me Andrea Vincent. This wedding had a really special place in my heart. I photographed Kate’s sisters wedding in September 2010 and I was also Kate’s labor and delivery nurse, not only once but twice! How awesome is that? And then I got to photograph another special time in her life, her WEDDING DAY! Kate and Jeremy are so in love. They met at a work picnic and from there the rest is history! Here is a sneak peek of the wedding day. More to come later. Kate and Jeremey….I challenge YOU to get 50 people to comment on this blog post and you will get a FREE 16×20 print.

Wedding Wednesday Magazine Inspiration | weddings

Trip over love, you can get up. Fall in love and you fall forever.~unknown

Today I was thinking, where did my inspiration come from almost 13 years ago for my wedding day? I began to think about it. The internet was fairly new and I have the ancient computer still upstairs in my closet for proof! It was through magazines. Lots and lots of BRIDAL magazines! Today we still have magazines! I love looking at the magazines today for inspiration. To pose my brides, to be inspired with color, and to make my heart beat that pitter patter it did when I was planning my wedding day. Don’t get me wrong the internet is an easy and fast way to find ideas, but with magazines you get to use your sense of touch and I believe that this is a function that can make your day feel REAL! Some really amazing blogs to follow for inspiration are The Wedding Chicks, Weddings Unveiled, Southern Weddings, Style Me Pretty, The Knot, and EmmalineBride. So tell me where are YOU getting your wedding day inspiration from?
