Today I was thinking, where did my inspiration come from almost 13 years ago for my wedding day? I began to think about it. The internet was fairly new and I have the ancient computer still upstairs in my closet for proof! It was through magazines. Lots and lots of BRIDAL magazines! Today we still have magazines! I love looking at the magazines today for inspiration. To pose my brides, to be inspired with color, and to make my heart beat that pitter patter it did when I was planning my wedding day. Don’t get me wrong the internet is an easy and fast way to find ideas, but with magazines you get to use your sense of touch and I believe that this is a function that can make your day feel REAL! Some really amazing blogs to follow for inspiration are The Wedding Chicks, Weddings Unveiled, Southern Weddings, Style Me Pretty, The Knot, and EmmalineBride. Today’s wedding inspiration is Navy Blue! I love how the colors in the bouquets just pop out against the Navy Blue! And how RAD is having cowboy boots with your bridesmaids dresses? I wish I would have done that 12 almost 13 years ago! I love the look! So what are you looking for in a wedding? What are your wedding colors? What are in all your details? Another Thankful Thursday is here already! WOW! What are you THANKFUL for today? Today I am THANKFUL for my current BRIDES TO BE! I am THANKFUL that they are giving me the chance to photograph their special day. I am THANKFUL that they are giving me the opportunity to GROW and LEARN. I know they have FAITH in me and I know that GOD above has given me the gift and talent to create awesomeness for their day! I am looking forward to the weddings that I have this year and I can’t wait to book more. So if you know someone that is engaged and looking for a wedding photographer, send them my way PLEASE!
I know that I don’t get many comments here on these posts, but I am hoping that YOU are at least reading these!

As I said last Wednesday…I am hooked to Pinterest! This is where I got these images from for some PURPLE WEDDING INSPIRATION! As you may or may not know but PURPLE is my favorite color! If I had to do things over again….I would totally put some PURPLE in my wedding! Twelve almost thirteen years ago my wedding day color scheme was BLACK/WHITE/RED! Don’t get me wrong, those are fabulous colors and I was pleasing my main squeeze by letting him have some say in the wedding day! I love the details and the creativeness that is all involved with planning a wedding! What is your color scheme for your wedding day?

I love looking for inspiration and the place that I have been sort of addicted to lately is the site called Pinterest. It is so amazingly inspirational in so many aspects! Love makes a lot of things possible. Still, getting married is probably one of the most important decisions a woman can ever make in her life.
This past weekend I got to go on a getaway with the LOVE of my life, my husband! We got to get away without kids. We went to Soaring Eagle Casino. Hey I know it isn’t much, but my husband LOVES to gamble and I just go to get away and play the slots a bit! It is just a getaway that is very relaxing to say the least. I was social network free and it felt good. Don’t get me wrong….I missed it, but realized I can live without it. I had the opportunity to think over many business decisions that I have made in the past year or so. I want to thank all of my wonderful clients for giving me the opportunity to photograph their special day and special loved ones! It means alot to me that YOU gave me a chance. A chance I might not have gotten. I want so much for my business adventure to grow and grow fast, but in reality I know that it takes time. I LOVE photographing all aspects of life. I want to photograph the complete circle…Engagement, Wedding, Maternity, Newborn, Child, Senior, Family, and back to Weddings:) I know eventually I might decide that one might be a bigger priority, but for now I am realizing that I LOVE shooting people! I LOVE LOVE! I recently got the chance to listen to three well known wedding photographers speak and man I want a business like theirs! They are very successful in what they do and their work is so incredibly amazing. They took chances and it took time and commitment to make it happen! So I am asking YOU if you would like to be photographed, whether it is your family, newborn, maternity, child, senior, or even a wedding that YOU choose Nancy Mitchell Photography! I am trying to grow my business and would LOVE some more bookings! Remember I do have a referral program this year and it is $100 print credit for each referral you send to me! I would LOVE to shoot some more weddings this year too. This year has been great so far, but I want to ROCK it out the rest of the year! In July, I got the chance to reconnect with my sister’s high school friend Jen! She called me to photograph her family as she was having a family reception because her and Jon went off and got married low key! So I went to her parents home on the Maumee River and photographed this lovely couple. Jen also welcomes a daughter to her family! Isn’t she just adorable? I had a blast and so did the kids. After the shoot, they were able to jump into the pool! What kid doesn’t like to swim? I really haven’t met one yet! Best of luck to you and Jon and I wish you nothing but happiness for many years:)

I have known Kimmie and her family since High School! When she asked me to photograph her wedding, I was truly honored. I also was her sister Kate’s nurse when she delivered her babies! Small world huh? Kimmie and Leroy got married at The Pioneer Mill in Tiffin Ohio! What a gorgeous venue. Their plans got a little crazy due to the rain, but we all adapted well. Leroy, his dad, and his brother are all fire fighters, so getting married on 9/11 was truly special to this family! There were also a handful of volunteer fire fighters that attended the wedding. Kimmie you looked amazing and I wish you and Leroy nothing but the BEST!
